Ferrets are small, playful, and curious carnivorous mammals belonging to the weasel family (Mustelidae). They have long, slender bodies, short legs, and sharp intelligence, making them engaging pets.
Ferrets are highly social and energetic, requiring daily playtime, mental stimulation, and interaction. They sleep 14–18 hours a day but are very active when awake. Their diet consists of high-protein, meat-based foods since they are obligate carnivores.
With proper care, ferrets live 6–10 years. They need a spacious enclosure, tunnels, and toys to explore. Though affectionate, they require training and supervision due to their mischievous nature.
