About Guinea Pigs

Guinea pigs are small, herbivorous rodents native to South America, known for their gentle, social nature and cute appearance. Despite their name, they are not pigs but belong to the Caviidae family.

Guinea pigs grow to about 8–12 inches long, weigh 1.5–2.5 pounds, and live 5–8 years. They thrive in pairs or groups, requiring a spacious cage, fresh hay, vegetables, and vitamin C for good health.

These low-maintenance, affectionate pets communicate through squeaks, purrs, and chirps, making them popular among families and first-time pet owners.
