The Thai Bangkaew Dog is a bold and loyal spitz-type breed from Bangkaew village in Thailand, originally developed as a guard dog and family protector. Known for its fluffy coat, fox-like expression, and territorial nature, this breed is devoted to its family and naturally suspicious of strangers—making early socialization essential.
Their dense double coat sheds heavily, especially during seasonal changes, and needs frequent brushing to prevent mats and reduce loose hair. Thai Bangkaews are intelligent and alert, but also strong-willed, so they do best with experienced owners who offer consistent, reward-based training and clear boundaries.
