The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a rare Irish breed, originally developed to hunt vermin and perform farm work in the remote Wicklow Mountains. Compared to other terriers, Glens are more laid-back and steady, making them excellent companions for quieter households. Their wire-haired double coat sheds very little but needs regular brushing and occasional hand-stripping to stay in good shape. They're intelligent and affectionate, but also independent, so consistent, positive training is essential. With moderate energy levels, Glens enjoy daily walks and short play sessions rather than intense activity.
