The Taiwan Dog (also known as the Formosan Mountain Dog) is a loyal, agile, and intelligent breed native to the mountainous regions of Taiwan. Originally used for hunting and guarding, this primitive breed has a keen sense of awareness, deep devotion to its owner, and an instinct to protect.
With a short, dense coat, they shed moderately, especially in seasonal changes, and are generally easy to groom. Taiwan Dogs are independent and watchful, often reserved with strangers but deeply affectionate with family. They require early socialization, positive training, and regular activity to stay balanced and confident.
