The Alaskan Klee Kai is a small, intelligent, and energetic breed, resembling a miniature Husky but bred as a companion dog rather than a working sled dog. They are loyal and affectionate with their families but tend to be shy around strangers, making early socialization essential. Their long-haired, double coat sheds heavily year-round, with seasonal coat blowouts, requiring frequent brushing. Training can be moderately challenging, as they are smart but independent, responding best to positive reinforcement and mental stimulation. Their high energy levels mean they need daily exercise and playtime.
