The English Foxhound is a robust and sociable scent hound, originally bred in England for pack hunting of foxes over long distances. Known for their stamina, strong prey drive, and pack-oriented personality, they do best with plenty of space and activity. Their short, dense coat is low-maintenance, but they do shed moderately, especially during seasonal changes. While intelligent, Foxhounds are independent thinkers, often led by their nose, so training requires consistency, patience, and early socialization. They need daily vigorous exercise and mental stimulation, making them best suited for active families or country living.
