The Treeing Walker Coonhound is a fast, vocal, and determined scenthound bred in the U.S. for chasing and treeing raccoons and other game. Known for their explosive speed, stamina, and unmistakable baying voice, these dogs are excellent hunters and loving, social companions when off the trail.
Their short, glossy coat is easy to maintain, requiring just occasional brushing to keep it clean and reduce moderate shedding. While they are intelligent and eager to please, their prey drive and scent obsession can make recall training a challenge without structured, positive reinforcement.
