The Samoyed is a majestic, fluffy, and endlessly smiling breed originally developed by the Samoyedic people of Siberia for herding reindeer, pulling sleds, and keeping their humans warm. They are affectionate, sociable, and great with families, but also known for their strong-willed and chatty nature.
Their long double coat is incredibly beautiful and functional in cold climates, but it sheds heavily year-round, with intense seasonal shedding twice a year. Daily brushing during those times is essential. Samoyeds need plenty of physical and mental stimulation, and while they love people, they also love to talk, dig, and wander, so training should start early.
